Changelly sends swap proceeds to the recipient address recorded in your order

Last updated

Changelly lets you review the receiving address, exchange amounts and fees before funding a crypto swap. Check the selected networks and any required memo alongside those details, then preserve the order record. After payment, distinguish the deposit transaction from the payout transaction that carries the exchanged funds. The payout hash identifies the transfer to investigate when confirming receipt. Match its destination and transferred asset with your order, then check whether your wallet has credited the funds. If the exchange appears complete but the balance is missing, investigate that transfer before sending another payment.

The short version: Verify the payout transfer against your recorded receiving details before treating the swapped funds as available for another transaction.

Choose a rate option that matches your funding conditions

A fixed-rate order fits only when you can meet its stated deposit amount and payment window; floating-rate output can change during processing. Compare the amount expected at the destination with the fees included in the quote. The exchange rate alone does not establish the amount that will arrive. For a fixed order, check whether your sending service can deliver the exact required amount and have the transfer appear on the blockchain within the displayed payment window.

Match the receiving network before accepting the address

The receiving wallet must support the selected payout asset on the selected network, even when the address passes the form’s validation. An address can pass format validation while belonging to a network that does not match the selected payout. Compare the pasted address with the wallet’s receiving details, including any required memo or tag. Resolve a mismatch before funding the order.

Review the transfer that will actually fund the order

The final review must cover both the order instructions and the outgoing payment, because the sending wallet determines what reaches the deposit address. Reconcile the input asset, network, deposit address and required memo before authorizing that transfer. Read the amount delivered to the recipient separately from the total deducted from your balance. A sending service’s withdrawal fee can affect those amounts differently.

Check the quoted payout and the exchange’s fee breakdown together. Keep the sending cost separate when it appears outside that quote, and avoid subtracting a fee twice. A payout figure that already includes deductions should be compared with the delivered amount on the same basis. Changing the input amount, rate option or selected network calls for another review of the resulting quote.

Creating an unpaid order leaves you able to stop before transferring funds. Authorizing the deposit changes that position: errors in the funded order require support assistance. If you discover an error after sending, contact support immediately. A request to stop processing does not guarantee cancellation, and a completed payout cannot simply be recalled.

Match the payout record to the incoming transfer

Preserve the order’s identifier and receiving details so that you can compare the completed transfer with the instructions you accepted.

The order identifier tracks the exchange inside the service. A blockchain transaction hash identifies a particular transfer. Keep the deposit hash and payout hash distinguishable in your records; confirming your outgoing payment establishes only that part of the exchange.

The payout hash identifies the blockchain transaction that sends the exchanged funds to the receiving address. Where the network exposes the necessary details, inspect that transfer in its blockchain explorer, a tool for reading blockchain records. Check the transfer’s confirmation status, then match the recipient, asset and transferred amount with the completed order. A hash that resolves successfully still needs those checks.

Compare the amount actually sent with the final payout record rather than an earlier estimate. The record distinguishes estimated output from the amount sent after processing. An estimate can also precede a network-fee deduction, so its label matters when reconciling the figures.

Keep the receiving wallet’s credit record with the payout details. Blockchain delivery and an application’s displayed balance answer related questions, but a delayed display can leave them temporarily out of step. The relevant completion evidence is the incoming transfer credited to the intended destination.

Why is the wallet balance missing after the swap finishes?

A completed exchange with a valid payout hash can still appear missing when the receiving wallet has not synchronized or has not assigned the incoming transfer. Check that the application displays the intended network and asset. Refresh its connection and allow any required synchronization to finish. Compare the payout’s destination with the address recorded in the order before assuming that the transfer reached the correct place.

Why is the wallet balance missing after the swap finishes?: If the transfer matches but the balance remains absent, contact the receiving wallet’s support with the payout details. A missing required destination memo can leave a payment unassigned by the receiving provider.; If the payout details themselves are missing or inconsistent, contact Changelly with the order identifier. Sending another deposit does not diagnose either problem and adds another transfer to reconcile.

Wait for the fixed-rate payout to become available in your wallet

In this hypothetical example, the selected assets, networks, quote, fees and wallet states are illustrative conditions rather than live values. You have a fixed-rate order ready to fund and need the proceeds available before making another transfer. The sending wallet can deliver the required input amount within the order’s payment conditions. The receiving wallet’s details also match the selected payout asset and network.

Before sending, you compare the wallet’s total debit with the amount that the deposit address will receive. You also retain the quoted net payout and its fee breakdown. These figures answer different cost questions: what leaves your balance, what funds the exchange and what should reach the destination. You authorize payment only after those amounts and the order instructions agree.

The exchange later reports completion, but the wallet initially shows no incoming credit. You inspect the payout transfer and find that its destination, asset and amount match the completed order. After the wallet synchronizes, its incoming record shows the matching credit. The proceeds are now visible and available; without that credit, you would pause the next transfer and investigate the receiving wallet. The reconciled record is the fixed-rate order’s payout, not its deposit.

Everyday questions about Changelly

Can I split the required Changelly deposit across several transfers?

Send the required deposit in one transfer; do not split it into an initial payment and a later top-up. The transaction instructions state that missing funds cannot simply be added afterward. An incorrect fixed-rate deposit amount or a payment below the minimum can cause failure. Contact support about an underpayment before sending additional funds.

Which address belongs in the refund field for a swap?

The refund address must receive the input cryptocurrency, which is the asset you send for exchange. It has a different purpose from the payout address that receives the exchanged asset. Check its network compatibility and any required additional identifier before accepting the order.

Where can I find the order identifier after leaving the confirmation screen?

Open the transaction in your Changelly history to find its order identifier at the top of the details. Preserve that identifier when contacting support. The blockchain hash shown by your sending wallet identifies the deposit transfer and does not replace the exchange’s internal identifier.

Does a confirmed deposit mean that a held swap can proceed?

A confirmed deposit does not resolve a verification hold. A transaction flagged by the risk-scoring system can require identity verification before processing continues. Review the request associated with the order and address it through the service’s verification process. Additional blockchain confirmations do not satisfy that request.

What does "Not yet redeemed" mean beside an incoming transaction?

Where an explorer uses "Not yet redeemed" for a transaction output, it means that the received funds have not been spent as input to another transaction. The label does not by itself indicate an unfinished exchange. Interpret it alongside the transfer’s confirmation status and the receiving address.

Should I share my recovery phrase when asking about a missing payout?

Never share a recovery phrase or private key to investigate a missing payout. Those secrets can give another person control of your wallet. Support can investigate transfer records using the relevant order identifier, transaction hash and receiving details without receiving your wallet’s recovery credentials.
